I try really hard to not be materialistic. It's easy to want to be when you see people your age driving new/bigger vehicles or couples our age with kids in a house that is about five times as big as ours. But I try to remind myself what is really important. Things are not important. Being happy and healthy are important. Plus, do I really want to be a slave to bills and loans? NO!!!
So, I've been trying to come up with ways to save money. Now granted, baby wipes are not that expensive, but I did run across a recipe for homemade baby wipes. I have tried them out and am pretty satisfied with them. Here is the recipe:
Homemade Baby Wipes:
2 cups water
2 Tbls Baby Oil
2 Tbls liquid baby bath
Cut a roll of paper towels in half (Bounty works good) down the center to make two short rolls. Cut while still in the wrapper. Place roll inside a round Tupperware/Rubbermaid conatiner with a tight fitting lid. Mix liquids and slowly pour over the rolls. Cover with lid. Let sit for one hour. Turn over and let sit for another hour. Turn upright and remove cardboard center. Pull wipes from center (I actually just saved old wipes container and put the wipes in there).
Like I said, I'm pretty satisfied with them! Cutting the roll makes the edges jagged, so I think we will run them through a table saw for a clean cut next time. Now, on to the next homemade item - cleaning products!!! Stay tuned!!!
