Five Question Friday
Five Question Friday
1. What giveaway would you like to do on your blog? Hmm... Some nights I would like to say my dog! But seriously, no clue and I don't want to put much thought into it. :)
2. If you had to choose between natural artistic ability and natural athletic ability, which would it be? Athletic ability. I feel like I am really clumsy. I would love to kick more than my own butt in races.
3. Do you ditch the coat the minute it becomes "spring" or are you a holdout for more cool temps? I really strongly dislike coats, so even during winter I rarely wear one unless I'm walking Drake or something like that.
4. What would you do if you won the mega millions lotto of 1/2 billion dollars? MOVE!!! I would get the heck out of IA and buy a house in Florida. But seriously, I never play so this is definitely never going to happen, but I would obviously finish off our debt, take our families on an amazing vacation, stash a bunch away so I would never have to work again and I would start my own charity.
5. You are at a hotel by yourself...what do you do? Take advantage of "me" time and I would work out, catch up on reading and maybe grab a drink at the hotel bar. :)

Five Question Friday
1. If you were free to just hop in the car and drive, where would you go? Or, if you could hop a plane and go anywhere, where?
Right now, I wish we would have hopped in the car and went to Carroll today. My sister and her boys are going home and I am really wishing we could be there to hang out too!!!2. What's your most recently read favorite book?
'The Opposite of Me' was my most recently read book and I really enjoyed it. I'm currently reading 'The Story' for church. It's an eight month series where we read one chapter a week and then that's what is discussed on the weekend. It puts the bible into a more friendly reading format. I'm liking it! I'm also hoping to start the Hunger Games soon since I'm hearing so much about them now!3. What's your favorite Spring Break memory?
I've only been on one spring break trip. My senior year in college I went to Pensacola Beach, FL - and along the way we went to Biloxi and New Orleans. It was my first introduction to the south and I fell in love with all of it!! 4. What do you put in your child's Easter basket? Or, for those w/o kids, what was put in your childhood basket?
This year will probably be the first year we do baskets (we skipped last year since Brady was just a baby). I'm not sure what I'll put in there, but for sure no candy!! I hate when he has sweets already. We always had Easter candy in our baskets growing up and a little gift - the gifts were usually the same, but in different colors. It was fun!5. Do you get a summer haircut?
No summer haircut.

Happy St. Paddy's Day!
We had a great St. Paddy's Day this year! Now that he is getting older, it's more fun to dress him up. We started the morning with me donating blood and Brady going to Beckett's house to play while I did that. Then we played outside a lot and Brady was able to meet and play with the neighbor girl and boy. He loved it! They followed him up and down the sidewalk and he giggled and ran almost the whole time!! What a great way to spend a beautiful day!!
I know I say this a lot, but it's just amazing to watch him grow up. He now gives me hugs when I'm changing his diaper. I really don't think there is a better feeling than having your child hug and love you. He's also learning how to go down the stairs backwards. I'm looking forward to the day where he has that skill mastered and it's one less thing to worry about!!
We hope everyone has had a wonderful weekend!!

Five Questions Friday
I like reading other blogs that have Five Question Friday posts, so we'll see if I can remember to do this!! :)
1. Will you run to the store or to pick up a kid looking a mess? Unfortunately for other people who have to look at me, I do and will continue to do so. I know I should care more, but I just don't!
2. Do you finish a book if it's boring or you don't like it? No, I won't finish the book. I love to read and don't want to waste my time on something I have no interest in. Plus, I just can't get myself to read more than a few pages at a time if it's boring and then the book sits there forever.
3. Beach or mountain vacations? Beach Beach Beach..... Although I do love Colorado, I would pick a beach vacation first every time!
4. What thing/event says "winter will end and spring is right around the corner" to you? The first warm"ish" day when I can shut off the furnace!
5. Would you prefer couples or family vacation? Definitely family vacations. My parents always took us on a vacation every year and those are some of my favorite childhood memories. One of the things I look forward to with Brady is taking him on vacations - sightseeing, activities, adventures, swimming - there are so many cool things and places to go do and see! It's like you can be a kid again.

I bet you're tired!!!
Brady slept until 8 this morning. We also spent an hour cuddling on the couch. And he is down for an afternoon nap already. I bet he's tired - that's what happens when you don't want to go to bed until 12:30am.
Now I can't wait for him to wake up! The weather is amazing and I can't wait to get outside and play. This summer is going to be so much fun! I can't wait!!!

15 Month Stats!!
Brady had his 15 month appointment today. He was a little social butterfly with the nurse, Dr. Beebe and the student shadowing Dr. Beebe. But those shots still got him. I thought this one was the hardest on him. One more shot at his 18 month appointment and then we are good until kindergarten. Yay. Here are his stats:
Height: 31 inches (45%)
Weight: 24 lbs 10 oz (75%)
Head Cir: 18 3/4 (70%)
Here's a picture of Brady - the doctor's appt wore him out. :) Oh, and it's pretty obvious that he loves his pacifiers!

Boo
I have strep throat. I hardly ever get sick and it literally makes me want to cry because we had such a fun week planned. We had a fun play date scheduled for tonight and my college friends will all be in town this weekend. I live for those get togethers. :(
At least we figured out that Brady only had an eye cold and not pink eye. Thank goodness. I just hope he doesn't get strep. :(

It's March!!
Yay, it's March already!! We have made it through winter, and what an easy winter it has been. March will be a busy month, lots of birthdays, anniversaries, play dates and St. Paddy's day! Lots to look forward too!
I had some great feedback on Brady's diaper rash. I have noticed that he gets it when he teeths, but didn't see any new teeth coming in so I was confused. However, today during a tantrum where his head was leaned back and he was "crying", I noticed something white way in the back of his month. Wow - a molar!! I didn't think they came in this soon, but apparently the molars do around 15 months. So, there you have it - diaper rash explained!!
We have been working on learning new things lately. He likes to clap when he hears the song "If your happy and you know it clap your hands". He loves that song! I am still trying (aka failing) at getting him to lift up his finger to show that he is "1". And we were able to see his cousin Max do the "so big" over Skype last weekend so I realized we better start teaching him that too! At first we were making progress but now he has no interest in it.
As I was rocking Brady to sleep tonight, I couldn't help but think about how amazing it is that one little human being can completely change life as you know it. And in that process, make your life a million times better. What a little sweetheart.
Here are some pics!
Hanging out in his awesome Puma outfit from Jenn and Kyle
Pretty view from our last snowfall
I snapped some pictures of Brady and Drake the other day....
