The results are in:
Weight: down 7 pounds
Body Comp: down 2
Push ups (full): up 5
Sit ups (full): up 16
Sit and Reach: increased 1 1/2 inches
Total inches lost: almost 2 inches (I wish I would have had my waist measured because that's where I notice the change the most).
I can't tell a difference in my Before & After pictures. Saturday morning I was so proud of myself for finishing the challenge and at least having some results. By the end of the party on Saturday night, I felt like a complete failure. A LOT of people had AMAZING results. I was mad at myself, I was mad at my coach, I was jealous of the other teams who were actually a team. I had to just get out of there. Chris and I tried to go out afterwards, but I really just wanted to go home. I was a party pooper. I feel like I need to seclude myself and just figure out how to stop being my own worst enemy. I need to do this better... and faster....

I Adore My Little Boy
Here are Brady's two year (and two month) pictures (ignore the bad scanning job):
He just makes me smile. Period. He is so smiley, happy, has a sparkle in his eyes, loves to giggle and loves to do things to make us laugh. Smiling is just an automatic reaction of mine when I look at his pictures. I LOVE him. ADORE him.
He's been changing so much since he's turned two.
1. He is talking more by stringing words together. For example, "move mommy" is said a lot in this house if I am in his way. :) A few weeks ago, Chris happened to be standing by us as Brady and I had a full conversation for a couple of minutes. Chris started laughing because he said he really didn't understand anything Brady said, but I did and we carried on the conversation. :)
2. He has this song that he sings consistently, for at least a few months now. Well, he's incorporated the names of everyone he can say into the song now. It's hilarious! It goes something like "Oh Mean (Lightening McQueen), Oh tow truck (Mater), Oh Buzz, Oh Wee Wee (Woody), Oh Daddy, Oh Mommy, Oh Drake, Oh Papa." And then he stops. I need to get this on video.
3. When he wants us to sit and play, he pats the floor next to him and says "sit Mommy" or "sit Daddy". Again, probably only cute to me, but it is.
4. When the light is in his eyes, or he cries and then has tears, he starts to whine "eyes mommy, eyes" in this sad little whiny voice. Again, kinda funny to me!
5. He no longer rubs my arm when he is tired or falling asleep. I miss it, but understand because how would it be possible to rub my arm when you have your tow truck, Lightening McQueen car, and whatever toys you can fit in your arms as you are rocking to sleep? He is always carrying cars and toys around. My parents say he gets that from me, because I did that all the time when I was little. When I tell him it's time for bed, he will literally go around and collect his toys to bring up to rock with.
6. After the holidays, his sleep schedule changed. He started sleeping in until 8/9am and then no nap, but going to bed around 8ish. Now he has slowly gotten back to being up around 6:15, we do an early nap and I try and make sure he is up by 3/3:30 and then to bed around 8/8:30. I've decided that I definitely like his early schedule better.
7. He is so good about matching or associating like/similar items. For example, he would see a snowman, and then point to all the other ones he could see.
8. He loves the twin baby girls I baby-sit. He gives them lots of kisses, loves to help put their paci's in or throw their diapers away and will sometimes even share his toys with them by putting a car or truck on their tummies. He loves them.
9. I had the sweetest moment with him over Christmas. We laid down to go to bed and we were facing each other. He put his hand on my cheek, kissed my lips, closed his eyes and fell asleep with his hand on my cheek. I can't even describe the feeling I had at that moment.
10. He really does love to make us laugh. He fakes snoring, so when I go in to get him from his crib, he'll lay back down and start snoring. And giggling. He's so funny. He also refers to himself as "You". For example, I'll ask 'who made this mess Brady?' and he'll point to himself, smile and say "You"!! It's hilarious. Again, I think everything he does is so funny though because I am completely enamored by him.

Smoothie
I look so forward to my smoothie every morning after my workout, so I thought I would share the recipe!
In a blender, blend:
1/2 c water
1/2 c skim milk
1 scoop whey protein powder - strawberry flavored (I get mine at Hy-Vee)
1/2 c blueberries
1 banana
It is soooo good!

Week 9!
I am finishing up my last week of the 9 week challenge at Goals in Motion. I am ready for the challenge to be over, although I did consider signing up for the next one. I would like to do it again and hopefully get a different coach. However, there is NO WAY I can convince myself or Chris to spend the money on another challenge right away. I did sign up for a year membership today - excited for that!! I can't imagine working out anywhere else right now. The workouts are always, and I really do mean ALWAYS, fantastic. This means we will probably be giving up our Y membership. I have a hard time thinking about this, as it was such an important and big part in Brady's and my life over the past two years. It makes me a little sad! I'll still try and sign Brady up for a few classes though, and we will probably be getting a pool pass this summer.
I don't have specific stats to update on, but my weight loss is still incredibly slow. I feel so much stronger though and can see big improvements in class. My clothes are also a little looser now too, so I'm excited to see my measurements. I'll never give up - I'll get to my goal. For once, I would like to achieve one of my goals.
Some hang ups I've had and some positives:
* My Bodybugg isn't working right now. I've called and she couldn't figure it out, so they extended my membership, but it stinks that I can't use it yet. I was frustrated so did not track my food the last few weeks. I think that has definitely hampered my success.
* Lifting weights was my favorite form of working out. I have not missed it once!!! And I feel so much stronger than I ever did while lifting weights.
* I am so thankful for my family and friends - all the texts, emails, comments and phone calls have been greatly appreciated!!
* It's funny now that some of us challengers are talking more in class, I am hearing that I am not the only one frustrated with the scale. I don't feel so alone!
* I was 118 when we were married. Yikes - I still have 35 pounds to go until I reach my goal weight, and my goal weight is not as low as that. I wish I would have appreciated my weight back then more, but I am accomplishing a healthier life style in a much more healthy way this time and that's good enough for me.
* It's such a GREAT feeling to be done with my workout by 6am. When we head to the Y for Brady's classes, I often think about how nice it is to not have to worry about working out anymore after his classes. It's done and we are free to go on with our day!
* I haven't tried any new recipes lately and have noticed my evening eating is not so great anymore. I hope to start planning and cooking evening meals again.
* I bought the Biggest Loser cookbook. There seems to be some good recipes in there! If anyone wants to copy some recipes out of there, feel free too. :)
* I love that I found a program that is teaching me a healthy lifestyle. I did not want to count points or have meals delivered. I want to learn how to eat right to fuel my body. They promote clean eating - love it.
* I can't wait for the Easter candy to be out of the grocery stores!!!
* I've tried so much over the years to lose weight - switched gyms, worked with two different nutritionists, bought the Bodybugg, paid for personal training sessions, and it goes on and on and on. I'm proud that I have not given up on my effort to get healthier - I'm going to do it!!
