First of all, it's Friday night, Brady is in bed, Chris is out of town hunting, and since I can't work out this week, I'm on the couch watching Blue Bloods with a drink. Two things about this: 1. I'm buzzed off of one drink and this makes me a little nervous for my Boji trip with my college friends this summer. It's our annual trip and the booze cruise has free beer and margaritas. I might be done for the night by 6pm since I rarely drink anymore. 2. I love Blue Bloods. My FAVORITE.SHOW.EVER.
An update on my 2nd 9 week challenge at Goals in Motion.
* I haven't been able to work out this week due to a few things. I am anxious to get on the scale since I have found my motivation (FINALLY AFTER YEARS!!!). Some girls I work out with want to see Brady, so I might just get him up and go with him in his PJ's at 7am tomorrow after their workout.
* My weight loss has been so slow again, but like I said, the past few days, I get it. REALLY get it.
* A recipe I received from someone that my whole little family loves: plain Greek yogurt, some Ranch dressing dry mix and a little garlic powder. We eat this with everything - cut up bell peppers, celery, carrots, tacos, homemade chicken salad. It's so yummy.
* One of my coaches switched up my breakfast. No more fantastic smoothie. Instead, I have fruit, 2 fried egg whites and 1 slice of wheat toast with Smuckers Natural PB. I really like this too - and it's cut my breakfast calories in half. Yippy skippy since I am trying to cut my daily calorie count down by 300.
* I've had some "good feeling" moments because of my experience at Goals. I feel so strong, no matter what I still weigh. I've met some great girls there. I was lucky enough to start at Goals in a spot where there are incredibly nice and supportive people around me. Two of the girls and I regularly email and Facebook. I feel so lucky and am very happy with these blossoming friendships. It's so important to surround yourself with others who are going through what you are going through, or who have been there and done that. I'm so fortunate. And finally, I was able to make it to our last team meeting. It was a crowded house for breakfast and the hostess had their new camper set up for more space. As I sat in the camper with four other people I didn't know eating my healthy breakfast, I had this great feeling. It was so amazing to sit there and have great conversation with great people and have time fly by. People I really don't even know all their names!! It was fun - it was great to just socialize with others - it's been awhile. :)
* I am so grateful that last fall we decided to cut way back on our drinking. That has helped tremendously with my weight loss and happiness. I took it seriously and only drink about 3 times a month - at the most, maybe two drinks. I love being sober and completely in control of my life. Not too mention that I think I am an awesome parent when I am not drinking!!!!!
And onto the most important little guy in my life. My boo. He is growing at lightening speed. He is talking up a storm - repeating things correctly.
* He notices flags and is always pointing (shouting) when he sees one.
* He sometimes stops what he is doing when he is peeing and will them tell me he went. Yup, potty training is right around the corner.
* When he gets excited, he says "Yeah" with such enthusiasm, it makes me realize how AWESOME life is when you are just learning about it.
* He calls basketball "hoop ball". But, he is getting better at it!
* His memory is amazing. It's better than mine and makes me realize he is soaking in more information than I ever realized.
* He just noticed/learned about worms with all this rain. We often have to go find them when we go out to the car now. He likes to say "hi" to them and says 'worm poo' which means worms -food. We talked about how they come up for food when it's cloudy and wet and so that stuck with him.
* He hates dirt or anything messy. Apparently this applies to maybe a speck of dirt or whatever that comes out of a bath toy. I cannot for the life of me figure out where it is coming from since all his toys are relatively new, but he literally had a panic attack last week when he saw it in the tub. I thought he was going to jump out of the tub into my arms and he screamed bloody murder. This has carried over into swim lessons, since there are random dark spots/scratches on the bottom of the pool. His instructor laughed at the way he was eyeing the floor when he first got in the pool. Ughh....
* He always says "You Happy" meaning "I am happy". What an awesome little kid. I always say you are happy? Mommy is too!! I want him to always be happy!! He has such a beautiful and happy disposition.
* One of the first things we always hear over the monitor in the morning is "tow truck" or "McQueen". Or "mommy up". Sometimes we lay there and make a bet on what he's going to say first.
* He's starting to make conversations between his toys. Buzz and Woody often talk to each other - and say hi to each other.
* He knows colors!! I am SO PROUD!!! He can pretty much always say the correct color if it's red, blue, black or brown. He even tries to say brown and orange. He is so smart. :) And numbers too!!!
* He is starting to say "please" with his hands reached out to us. How could we ever tell him no?? :)
* Water is now "waa waa".
* 'The Wheels on the Bus' is his FAVORITE song.
* He actually "shhh'd" Chris when Chris walked into the living room one day and the babies were napping. It was hilarious. :)
My little helper the other day at Hy-Vee. Note what is already in the cart.
Trying out his sunglasses for this summer.
"Daddy Bye Bye"
Hanging out with some friends - Brady loves those girls. Especially now that he knows they have a karaoke machine. He is obsessed with the little video I took of it on my phone.
No comment. :)
This dog is allergic to grass. Unfortunately the only thing that feels good to scratch his back is grass!
